This Mugolio syrup, which was featured in the April 2010 issue of Oprah Magazine, is a pine cone bud syrup made from the forests in the Dolomites. Collected from the buds of Mugo pines, it has a consistency similar to maple syrup but with a unique flavor profile featuring hints of pine and rosemary.
Mugolio pine syrup can be used in a number of creative culinary applications. It's excellent when served with goat cheese, pears, and apples. It can also be drizzled over gelato with fresh peaches.
